Dr. Oche Adam Itodo
Oche Adam Itodo is an epidemiologist and international public health scientist with a global health orientation. With a career spanning several years, he has served in different capacities with several Non-Governmental Organizations, Government Agencies and academic institutions in Nigeria, France and Switzerland including the AIDS Prevention Initiative in Nigeria, the French Ministry of Health, the French Agency for Public Health Research and the Swiss Paraplegic Research on pressing multifaceted public health issues. Specifically, his research experience cuts across a wide range of public health issues including viral diseases like HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis B and C, and non-communicable diseases such as mental health, cardiovascular diseases and obesity.
His personal experience working with several patients in these organizations introduced and highlighted the importance of prioritizing research within at-risk populations including drug users and persons struggling with drug dependency syndrome within the context of risk pooling, mitigation and community organizing and development. His research emphasizes the need for a human rights-based approach in working with persons suffering from drug dependency syndrome that holistically takes into account the dignity of the person.
Khirana healthcare and Social enterprise is an organization with an ambitious mission: to positively impact the lives of individuals in Sub-Saharan Africa affected by drugs and associated problems.
